From the Rooftop to the Table
There is a weakness in all of us, the tendency to drift from what God is requiring of us. As we continue the Gospel According to David series, Pastor Oscar Roche unpacks the story of sin, sexual impurity, and brokenness between David and Bathsheba found in 2 Samuel 11. David loses his first love, the burning desire for God.
Sin can happen to any one of us, but before it makes it to the headlines, it is founded in the heart. Sin is birthed on the inside of us. When we wander from God’s presence we will drift into the current of sin. Our response in that moment of sin will determine the outcome. Unchecked desires and unguarded moments can lead us to repentance and the restoration from our holy God. God loves mercy and grace, inviting us to run from sin and back to Him. “Come near to God, and He will come near to you.” James 4:8
