The “IT” Sermon
Once upon a time, there was a king, greater than any king who had come before him. He took his power, his privilege, his wealth, and he decided to do an experiment. He took all of this, and chased after satisfaction, looking for the “it” that would satisfy. In the end, he found all was meaningless, a chasing after the wind. Pastor Mike Patz continues the series, What’s the Point, a look through Ecclesiastes, as we look at meaning, purpose, and the point behind it all. So, what is your “it?” Wisdom? Pleasure? Wine? Work and achievement? Material possessions? Do you believe if you only climb a little bit higher, you’ll be satisfied? It’s all hevel, meaningless, vanity, a vapor. Solomon’s relationship with the Lord proved to be his only true satisfaction. Until God is your first love, nothing else full satisfy; but when God’s your first love, everything can satisfy. Get back to your first love, Jesus!
