The Idol of Busyness

“How are you?” The answer is often “I’m busy”. Somehow today exhaustion has become a symbol of status. Busyness has become a mask that proves our worth, and we’ve started believing that our volume proves our value.

Pastor Brooke Bauzon continues our series, Rhythm & Blues, as we tackle all things life. In Luke 5:12-16, Jesus models rhythms that bring renewal and life. He often withdrew to lonely places to pray. We must not confuse movement with meaning. Busyness is an idol, and breaking free of this is the key to life.
