The Formed Heart
Our hearts take the shape of the environment that they’re kept in. Whether it’s fear of man, an anxiety of messing up, a fear of being alone… the weight of our culture can shape us. Or are you consumed by hurry, distracted, and feeling harried? The place you put your priorities will affect your heart. Formation is happening, intentionally or not. The question isn’t are you being formed, but what are you being formed into?
We continue our series, The Gospel According to David, as Pastor Brooke Bauzon shines a light on 1 Samuel 13:14, “a man after God’s own heart.” David is the one God chooses, because he has allowed his heart to be formed by God. We are ordinary people becoming- more and more like Jesus. Our best formation comes when we come in honesty to the hands of the One who forms us. Name your true feelings and open your heart to the healing formation of God.
