Restoring the Principle of Honor

We live in a culture of dishonor, yet honor is a kingdom principle. Pastor Mike Patz continues our Restored: a Journey to Renewed Hope series with Restoring Honor. This look at the command in Exodus 20 to honor your father and mother has unexpected results. Honor in Hebrew is kabad, meaning to value, esteem, and ascribe the weight due to a person for their position. Ephesians 6:1-3 repeats the command with the addition of “the first command with a promise,” that of long life on the earth. Honor opens the door of blessing; dishonor slams the door shut. God calls us to be people who bring honor in a world where it is most often missing.
