How to Read The Bible
What do you do with a Bible that describes a God who orders total destruction? Pastor Mike Patz continues our series, The Gospel According to David, with a look at 1 Samuel chapter 15.
Communication is a challenge, yet even more so between people of different cultures. If we’re honest, we are constantly interpreting what others are saying. We are regularly reading into, not out of what others say.
When it comes to the Bible, we often misread and misinterpret what the Word says. If you misread the Bible, you’ll mislive your life. But if you read the Bible right, you’ll get your life right.
To get it right, we must read the Bible with the correct framework: observation, interpretation, then application. What did God mean when He said what He said? We’ll always misread the Bible- until we get to Jesus.
