How to Live a Generous Life
Is your life more like a vault, holding onto the blessings of God, or the generous life of a vessel, being poured out on others? Pastor Matt Ulrich asks this question in a message from 2 Kings 4:1-7. God’s heart is one of generosity! Riches stored in a vault are not enjoyed. They are treasures in heaven that we are not accessing. Yet just because you have money doesn’t mean you’re not being generous; our heart posture must lean towards scriptural giving. God didn’t call us to store the oil; He called us to pour the oil out! The key to provision is pouring. Stay open. This is the character of God.
What do you have? Everyone has something to give! Whether it’s a little or a lot, are you willing to give it to the Lord? Move in obedience. Live the Kingdom life! Generosity is not an action; it’s your identity. You were made in God’s image, so be generous! True joy and peace are the outcome of generosity! Ask God, “What do I have to give?”, then be obedient.
