When we suffer, we can either become bitter or better. In the dark night of the soul, Joseph knew that God meant it all for good. In Romans 8:28, “but we know” is eido: to be aware, behold, consider, and perceive. Faith is not optimism; it’s Emmanuel, God is with me, recognition. Remember the presence of God in your past. Recognize the presence of God in your present. Thank Him for things to come in the future.
