Don’t Waste Your Life

In the 1960’s, the words of Ecclesiastes chapter 3 were popularized in pop culture. “To everything, turn, turn, turn, there is a season, turn, turn, turn…” Pastor Mike Patz continues the series, What’s the Point, a look through Ecclesiastes, as we look at meaning, purpose, and the point behind it all. It asks the questions the rest of the Bible answers. We really need to understand the importance of time. There are two words for time in the Bible: chronos and kairos. There’s a purpose for our young life and our older days, and we must recognize our kairos time, the season we’re in. We long for something permanent in this life, yet there is nothing permanent in this life. As we live in time, deep down, we know that we are made for eternity. “Teach us, Lord to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12). The key to everything is, when you don’t understand life under the sun, look to the One above the sun.
