David & Jonathan – Covenant Friendship
After the giant falls, we see that there is still work to be done. Guest communicator, Wes Brinson, continues The Gospel According to David series with an admonition that difficult times are coming, and we must not try to go the way alone.
In 1 Samuel 18-20, we meet Jonathan, Saul’s son, who knits his soul to David, beginning a relationship that brings life and strength. God knew David would need a friend. We wither by ourselves! The word of God is so clear that we need people in our lives to go through chaotic times with us. Be a person who is willing to partner with others to be a stronger influence in the world. True Covenant friendship, hesed, is established and confirmed by Christ. In a world of chaos and uncertainty, we need someone we trust that we can go to.
