Born in Portugal and raised in New Jersey, Joao gave his heart to Lord as a teenager at a funeral after being touched by the worship band singing “Lord, I give you my heart”. He went from being a rebellious teenager to a passionate follower of Jesus.
At the age of 22, he became a youth pastor and an itinerant preacher. He’s done mission work in Brazil and in Mozambique. He has a huge heart for leadership, justice, evangelism, creativity, and preaching.
His wife accuses him of looking like a “teenager” without his beard. He loves Mac n cheese, basketball, coffee, green tea, roasting people, and road trips.
