Prayer and fasting

Dear Church Family, 

The Lord is an endless fountain of love, mercy, and provision. We will never find the end of his love for us. Regardless of how long we have walked with Him, there are ALWAYS new pathways to discover. If we ask Him, He will lead us into greater encounters of glory, revelation, and love.

It is my desire that we, as a church, would rally together to get stretched and consecrate ourselves and our families to the Lord in the month of January. We are calling the church to fast for a period of time from Wednesday, January 11th- Friday, January 20th. If you have never done a fast before, we have more information on how to do it on the Greenhouse App and Website; come check it out. If you cannot do an extended fast but would like to fast for a few days, join in the last three days of the fast and help us finish strong. 

We have created this booklet to help us get ready for the Fast January 11th-20th. At the beginning of the booklet, there is a teaching on how to pray and ways you can connect with the Lord. And then, there is a daily devotional you can follow starting January 1st. Every day we will have different prompts and scriptures to help us focus on the Lord during the morning, noon, and night times. Stretch yourself and join in as much as you are able. 

Therefore, confess your sins to one another [your false steps, your offenses], and pray for one another, that you may be healed and restored. The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) and accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God –– it is dynamic and can have tremendous power]. James 5:16 The unmistakable testimony of scripture is that prayer works anytime and everywhere. From Genesis to Revelation God has not changed His primary form of communication with us. It is through the vehicle of prayer.

The Lord wants us to dive into times of prayer and devotion that consumes us, changes us, saturates every fiber of our beings. We want to launch into a season of sacred encounters with Jesus. He wants us to experience the bright, glorious, all-consuming glory of His love this season. Step into the flames of His first-love passion this season. He wants us to grow and mature. He is inviting us to make our relationship with Him a priority.
