Join us this August as we journey to Thailand virtually. Our goal on this trip is to increase our awareness and understanding of the Buddhist world through a blend of virtual gatherings with our overseas partners and local, in-person cultural experiences. On this trip you will learn from the teams we partner with, who are ministering in the Buddhist world. You will see for yourself some of the cultural and religious barriers the Buddhist world poses to following Jesus and you will hear how individuals are choosing to follow Jesus through it all. Throughout the week you will build relationships with both missionaries overseas and our local team, as you go on this journey together. By the end of the week you will have a new understanding of Thai people and their culture, the reality of the Buddhist world, and will have gained a better understanding of how you can be lovingly engaging individuals from a Buddhist background here in Gainesville.
The beginning of this week is packed full of engaging activities and thought-provoking resources to explore on your own as we gear up for our sessions Friday evening and throughout the day Saturday, when we’ll be chatting with missionaries and exploring the Thai world together as a team. Each participant on this trip will receive an experience box designed to help you immerse yourself in Thai culture through smells, tastes and contact with the culture throughout the week.
This trip serves as a great opportunity to re-engage in global missions and align our hearts with the global Church. Prayerfully consider whether this opportunity is meant for you. Apply here!
Requirements and Expectations
Virtual trips make real missions experiences more accessible to our church body than ever before. Our heart has always been to be a sending church and a missions outpost and one of the ways we’re doing this is by creating new opportunities that make missions more available than ever before. That’s why this trip is specifically designed to accommodate our senior adults, families, professionals, and students.
